Schuyler VBS 2010 Report

Psalm 150:6 was one of the bible verses used during Schuyler VBS 2010. It reads, "Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!" Over 100 kids stood up in front of their friends and family and sang a few songs that included shouting "PRAISE GOD!" during one of them. It was a moment that touched my heart like nothing else. It was a fitting end to an amazing week.

Schuyler VBS 2010 was filled with many challenges and changes such as a new facility with the Oak Ballroom. But one thing that didn't change was our sharing of God's love with the kids and even amongst ourselves. I would like to personally thank each and every person who donated items, money or their time for a few hours, a few days, or the whole week. It could not have been as incredible as it was without that support.

Schuyler VBS provides a wonderful opportunity to serve God right here in our 'backyard'. I can't tell you enough how much this week means to the kids of that community. During the week, a girl who had been coming to VBS for several years stopped and asked me why we were at the Oak Ballroom and not the church this year. I explained that we were having so many kids come to VBS that we needed more space. She nodded her head as if she understood and then said, "I guess it doesn't matter where it's at as long as you guys are here!" Amen.
